My research focuses primarily on politics and society of Eurasia. I look at the various ways in which governance meets or misses stakeholders’ needs, how access to justice is granted or denied to various social groups, and the ways in which human security dynamics play out across the region.

I have published in Caucasus Survey, I have several working papers in circulation, and am currently working on research on the Balkar ethno-national movement in Kabardino-Balkaria. More recently, I have been involved in development research on Eurasian states’ policy responses to COVID-19
